Well it doesn't look like Roxio's Creator Pro 2012 is going to give me what I want. I have created dozens of movies in the last few of days, trying all the compressions, resolutions, bit rates and routines I can find. I even tried importing a movie into the Video Editor and then exporting it. The only routine that showed any promise was Drag and Drop Convert. I was able to create two movies that played through using MPEG-4 compression however I'm limited to 640 X 480 there. The Playbook screen size is 1024 X 600 so those movies were rather small on the screen. The only routine that offers a 1024 X 600 resolution is Copy and Convert and it always creates a movie that gives a Media Error near the end no matter what the resolution or bit rate is set to.

I thank you guys for your advice and time but I'm going to abandon Roxio. I'll periodically check for patches and updates, but for now It doesn't work for me.

If I convert one (1024 X 600)and post it for download will you try it?

Do be so fast to quit! ;)

If there is a flaw in the program, we want to get that passed on to Roxio!

However, you have been given several things to try out and your "source files" are still suspect...

You mentioned 'vob' files. cd gave you a workaround, renameing, to try. Please followup on that so we know if it works.

Looking through other program options in the Suite, it looks like VCC is the only one that will properly address the device you have :(

Yes of course I'll try it.

Renaming 2 VOB files to mpeg gave me the 2 movies that played clean through but only at 640 X 480. My source files are not suspect in my eyes, I've tried too many different ones. They can't all be be bad, besides 2 of them worked in Drag and Drop. They all play on the computer, they all play on my dvd players. And, the shareware program I have works for all of them but again the resolution is limited.

Interesting documentary there CD, but unfortunately I got a "Media Error" at 58Min 40sec so didn't get to see the end.

For those reading this thread, the movie was 1hr 3min 42sec long.

I will be able to try one of the movies on another Playbook on Sunday and on yet another Playbook on Monday. That should rule out or point to a hardware problem on my Playbook.

I took 2 movies to my son-in-law's today. One was cdanteek's documentary (1 hr 3 min) the other was one I had created directly from a DVD (24 mins). Both failed to play through on his Playbook, giving a "Media Error" several minutes before the end. My friend will try one tomorrow as well but I think it is futile.

My friend has tried the cdanteek's movie on his Playbook. Ditto on the Medai Error at about the 98 min mark.

I think I am finished testing Roxio's conversion routine again. I am convinced that it's flawed in some way.

Sorry, that was 58 minutes not 98 minutes. I guess I was thinking 1:03 minus 5.
