8Mm Tape

Question

I just bought and started using vhs to dvd, burning video to my computer. I had no problem when using my vcr w/vhs tape. Last night I tried to copy from my 8mm sony video cam, the software would allow me to copy and trim the video but when I tried to export a 7min video to my computer, it stayed at 0% for over 1hr. I then closed the program and re-started. I let the next video, 8:45 min long, try to export overnight and when I got up this morning it was still at 0% and I could not stop it.

I'm thinking it's not compatible with 8mm? Will I need to copy the 8mm to vhs or is there something I need to change to make it work?

Thanks for any help, Buxton

How do yuou have the device plugged int your 8 mm camcorder? Which camcorder - model number.

The device is an analog to digital converter so it should work.

You say you were able to capture and trim the video from the 8mm camcorder. That means that the capture process worked correctly.

Explain step-by-step your Export process? What format is the captured video? To what format are you trying to export? Some details please!

First thing I did when I got home was to upgrade to VHS to DVD 3 for the added features. Then I started out with a 1min clip from the 8mm camcorder and it worked fine. Then I converted a 10 min video to my computer, Iphone and youtube. It just finished up-loading to youtube and all 3 are working find, I had NO trouble during the proses and am very happy at this point.

Thanks again for following my post and offering help.
