So I'm having trouble capturing video from an old camcorder, whenever it captures there's severe latency with what is being recorded, and the final video skips around and has a lot of gaps, not sure if it's my graphics card or I'm doing something wrong. Please help, it wold be most appreciated.

A quick way to check it out is to use a different source....try using a DVD/VCR, another newer camcorder.
