so first time posting, be gentle.
new to recording stuff so dumb it down.
been transferring my old vhs to my computer.  will hit record for 1.5 hours, comeback , start the next one no problem.  but i'll check the file size and length on my computer and get 30 seconds to full length.  it's about 50/50 with them working properly. even weirder the start spot in the recorded video isn't the start i wanted.  really weird.

Without that, can't really offer anything

Well there is one thing, do a manual recording and see what happens. I suspect it may be a bad spot in the tape.
