I have had to buy Sony Vegas HD Pro to edit my AVCHD camera HD files. Does the new 2012 version of C2012 or C2012 Pro now import and edit in AVCHD format? I like the workflow of the Roxio product much better but ran into walls with AVCHD format in the 2011 version.

Yes and the last 3 versions have as well... 
Creator 2010, 2011 and 2012 have been able to do them all this time.
What "walls" did you think you found with 2011?
