I have installed Roxio Creater 8 and now WMP and MyDVD rerrots the length of a MPEG1 file as 56 seconds instead of the 27 min actual lentgh. That is what it plays also. It was correct in WMP before I installed Roxio and is correct if I uninstall Roxio. I believe it :) has something to do with the roxio Codec for MPEG1.

:) Sorry about that, the questions is: Why does Media Player and MyDVD report the duration of the video as 56 seconds versus the 27 minute true length and has anyone else had this problem? It only happens after installing C8 and both only play for 56 seconds. I though you might be able to read that question into what I wrote but I guess not. The encoder used to make the video was TMPEG.

Hi Guys...I have a similar problem. Installing EMC8 seems to corrupt the timings on any mpg's I have downloaded. A 12 minute file shows in WMP as 5:31 and the first 5:31 is what gets recorded onto DVD, while in WMP moving the timing slider around shows that somehow all the 12 minutes are on there.-For example, running the piece from the start in WMP to the 1:00 point brings the file to one point, running the timing bar along nearly to the end and bgack to thje 1:00 mark shows a much later part of the file.

Uninstalling EMC8 returns the timings to the correct length in WMP. I am completely baffled...help!

I have the same problem. If I uninstall MyDVD, all is well. Install it again and the clip length is very short, video stops and audio continues. Slider moves very fast.
