I want to horizontally flip a video that I converted from VHS to digital. The VHS tape was converted a while back from old film rolls that were unfortunately flipped horizontally during the conversion. The video looks like it is being watch through a mirror. Seems like a simple thing that Roxio Creater 2012 should be able to do but I can't seem to find this editing tool. Can this be done?

Like Steve said you can add the Mirror effect (Effect Selector > Mirror Left Right). Drag the effect to an Fx track under the clip you want to mirror. Then double click on the Mirror effect in the Fx track to open its settings. Click on the Keyframeable Settings button (its got 3 red dots on it) In the settings slide the  Effect Value to 100%. That should horizontally flip the clip. It should work on the Main Track or on overlays.

I do not know of any way to flip a video horizontally.  You can rotate the video but you cannot flip it.   If you add the mirror effect, you would get 2 very bad versions of the same video,  I tied adding the mirror effect to the video added as an overlay.  Overlays are size and loacation adjutable but the program does not allow the effects to be added to the overlay.

It is NOT a simple process! Perhaps others have an idea.

Doggone you are good!     I never thought that the effect value to 100% would actually do the flip.  I tried it and it worked great.

Thanks for confirming, Steve. Now, if they would just add keyframing to the rest of VW,  (or put it back in) <sigh>
