I’m using Windows XP with Roxio VHS to CD Converter Plus 3 and every time I try to record a VHS tape, Roxio stops working and shuts down Windows (saying Windows shut down to protect itself) after a few minutes. I have all the required items to run this software as far as Roxio requirements and am at a loss. Using a differnt PC, I use this software on Windows 7 and it works fine with it.
Any suggestions?

Something isn't quite right...

List your PC specs, like I have, including your Video Card.

I' don't have my links but if you shut off your A/V, you could start an install and chose Repair.

Sometimes that will do it!

Minimum System Requirements:

* Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows Vista® Home Basic (SP1), Windows® XP (SP3 for 32-bit, SP2 for 64-bit)
* Processor and RAM, 1.6 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM or more, or the minimum system requirements of the OS, whichever is higher.
* DirectX 9 compatible graphics card or higher, sound card, DVD-ROM drive
* 2 GB free hard drive space for installation
* Windows Media Player 10, 11 or 12
* DVD Writer for DVD
* Internet Explorer® 7, 8 or 9
* One available USB 2.0 port
* Minimum screen resolution 1024x768

32-bit or 64-bit OS?

Is the XP box update to SP3?

How to Check if Windows XP Is 32-bit or 64-bit (x86 or x64) Version.

1. Click Start, then click on Run or Start Search.
2. Type msinfo32.exe and then press Enter key.
3. In “System Information”, review the value for the System Type item:
* For 32-bit editions of Windows, the value of the System Type item is x86-based PC.
* For 64-bit editions of Windows, the value of the System Type item is x64-based PC.

I'm just a fellow user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may have provided.
