I have read the info relevant to using a turntable, but mine is recording from a tape deck using an iConnex adapter with dual red and white plug in from tape deck to USB from IConnex to computer. I thought when i first tried that it was my tape deck. I then purchased another from EBay and I get the same clicking when it is recording. I have an HP Pavilion Slimline running a RealTek High Definition Audio. What should I try next? i have a client who wants me to transfer approximately 500 tapes to CD's and DVD's so I really need to find a solution. I have included an attachment with a test audio which includes the "clicking". I would appreciate any help. Thank You in advance.

I don't hear any clicking...
But then I have minefield ears
Ah! I listened to the original, and now I can tell the rapid "warble" is not meant to be part of the soundtrack
Randy Newman : "The Natural"

I also hear it. Is the audio from a video file or from an audio file. What is the original source? What kind of tape deck? Reel to reel or cassette?
Why don't you just forget about those capture devices and output the red and white wires to a "Y" connection into your input for your computer? I'm guessing that you have a desktop and that, for sure would have an audio input port on the back near the output to the speakers. If you would have added your computer spec or at least your complete model number we could have helped you make sure.
Have you updated the audio drivers lately?

Thank you. I'm taking your advice and not being able to find the correct cable in my rural area, I ordered one today from Monoprice. I'll give it a try and let you know my results. The cable should be here by Tuesday, 5/15.
