I have been having a similar problem trying to edit a series of MOV files from my Canon SX310 camera. The sound track seems to speed up and makes the clip useless. I am using Roxio Creator Pro 2011. Did this problem get fixed in the 2012 version? I did find that I could convert the files using any video converter but the video quality seemed to suffer.

No it is not fixed.  Use a thrid party video converter to convert the mov files to mpg2.  Hight definition if applicable.  There are several free ones out there.  I like "Any Video Converter" since it will do batch convert quickly.

Edit:   BTW, I see that a couple of other video editors have similar issues also.

Op didn't like the loss in quality.

Any other suggestions?

There should not be any loss of quality unless you you tell it to make it worse

But is that is not working as expected, with Proper Settings, then we would be happy to revisit the issue!

Let us know ;)
