Audio file size problem

I'm trying to back up a jukebox DVD.
All its files have been copied to my HDD.
But when I load 251 Mb of mp3's in the Music DVD assistant it diplays a total of 2.81 GB...
It keeps telling me that my 4.7Gb Virgin DVD-R is not big enough.
Is this a known bug?
This is very frustrating.

The files are being encoded to a DVD format and menus are being added which uses alot more space then just the mp3 files. Why it would tell you a 2.81Gb project won't fit on a DVD I'm not sure but it should.
Do you already have the Jukebox disc made and just trying to copy it?If so try doing what Paul says.

Open Creator Classic, add your .MP3 files, insert your DVD, and see what happens when you try to write that.
Hope that helps!

Up to now, I have tried Disc copier with 2 different DVD writers and got the same problem: it keeps rejecting my blank DVDs (new).
Creator Classic seems to be working as I am typing this.
Oh plethoric decadence !

But that was not the problem.
A suite with many programs made to burn DVDs.
One that adds too many bytes to the project: Music DVD assistant.
Another,Music Disc Creator, that tells you have too many bytes to burn but won't propose a solution like compressing.
Gladly, one' Roxio Creator Classic, is versatile enough and good enough to do just a copy, with no useless add-ons...
Thanks d_deweywright !
I'm glad you took note of this little conclusion I came to recently.

DVD stands for Digital Versatile Disc, not "Video". As such, it could be Data, or Video, or Music, and each has it's specific format and file layout requirements. Many of those things are hidden behind the scenes, but some amount of awareness is required to make the best use of them.
So, there is a learning curve involved in being able to use optical media fully. You've gotten through some of the curve now, and know that to write a Data DVD, you use Creator Classic. Good luck in your future endeavors, and if you have questions, post them here and with any luck, someone can help shorten the learning process for you!

I really appreciate your guidance.
The different formats can become quite confusing.
I understand that DVDs do not use the same file systems as CDs
And I really appreciate the time you take to answer.
Have a good day ! :-)
