The 702 DMG file for Toast 7 is bad.  At least that is what my MAC is saying, anyone else having this problem since it is impossible to get a hold of technical support unless you fork over another $35.00.

1) No it's not
2) If you're saying that then you haven't tried because no one in their right mind would have charged you for that question.  You talk with a real person before providing any billing information, and for anything even remotely related to this you would not have been charged.

Try clearing your cache and downloading the file again, make sure you're using Safari or FireFox, and if all else fails try downloading from another computer.

I think the statement on their website which states to have your credit card ready would be a clear indication.

I downloaded it 3 times, the DMG comes up bad every time.

Appearantly you didn't read my last post, and you obviously haven't tried calling because again, you would NOT have been billed for anything remotely related to this question.

It's not actually on one server, it's mirrored and verified across a large number so quite likely there is something going wrong during the download.  I just did a quick download from this side and it seems to be working fine, do you have access to another location to try and download it?  Or another computer perhaps...

And you were able to mount it?

It has been posted for 2 weeks... there's been lots of succesful downloads and people have had no problems (believe me... if it were truly a bad image, we'd have heard about it by now from everyone).

Besides what Pat suggests you may want to download to a different machine and try there... seems like something may be up with your machine.

Did you try using the disc image mounting in Toast 7? (Try "Mount It" instead of double-click, which uses Toast mounting instead of the Apple Disc Image mounter)

How are you unzipping the file?  The file is fine, it's a system problem if it's not working.

Downloaded it on an IBM, still bad.  I did mount it with Toast and it opened.  I copied the file over to update it and it bombed out on what looks like a PST file.  Now Toast will not run because the update crashed.

I believe Stuffit expander is doing the unzipping.

I will have to thank Freshburn for the idea.  I used BOM to extract the file and it looks like Stuffit was the problem.

BOM extracted it fine with no errors.  Leave it to the users to figure it out, never the company that made the software.  :)

Cheers to Freshburn!

Yep, StuffIt is buggy.  You need the newest version for it to work OK.  They had some issues with Apple zipped files.

I am having the same problem. The application loads but will not accept the 7.0 serial number and therefore won't work. The same occured on Toast 7.0.1. The upgrade system is bad if the upgrades are free then why make it so difficult.java script:emoticon(':)',%20'smid_6') Get your act together Roxio. I am using a Mac G4 and won't be using Roxio products much longer if this keeps up. This has become costly and time consuming as I have not managed to make a CD for three months. I use this to back up my photography.

I went from 7.01 to 7.02, after installing the update it did go through the initial setup again, but it didn't ask me for my serial again, it just asked me if I wanted to make any changes to my profile.

I don't think your problem is the same as mine.  I had a corrupt image due to Stuffit.

Two possibilities...

1) You're entering the serial number incorrectly (spacing and dashes, etc)
2) It isn't a legitimate copy of Toast

Can you send your cd-key and a link to this message to *email address removed* so I can test your key?

Thanks.

Nice.  Both #'s are pirated.  That's why they don't work.  Maybe you should buy a legit copy.

Thank you for your quick reply. It was purchased from the largest Mac Products Dealer in Bangkok

Saying you bought it in Bangkok just leads me to believe it is pirated.

Thanks for the info. I live and work in Bangkok at Bangkok wages and have no choice of dealers. My alternative is to send to North America and this is far beyond what I can expend in cost and time. Is some sort of work around possible and while I ask this I do not wish to offend Roxio. There is no copywrite agreement between Thailand and North America (the treaty proposal was never signed) to my knowledge so no laws are broken if a copy of any CD is brought here and then resold. I do not know what Toast costs in North America but here the price of a CD will feed the average family for about three days. Salaries are very low and most people earn around $200 a month, not a DAY. Those are considered legit copies here and legaly they appear to be.

If the copyright states not for export outside of the US or Canada, then it is illegal.

Toast here is $100.00 (roughly)

I also find it interesting that it states you are in Bankok, your post came in at 08:48 PM, but it is currently after 4 AM Thursday in Bankok.

My computer is on Canadian (North American) time as I import and export and am originally French Canadian from Montreal. You are quite correct and my time is currently 4:10 AM. Thank you for your comment but the real meaning of the copyright laws and the export laws which, as you might imagine, are complex and seperate laws, is simply to protect the copywrite and is valid for those Countries that have singed the North American copywrite export treaty. Thailand has not yet done so. However, this is getting way off my topic and concerns and the subject of a new forum. Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately that doesn't make theft okay.

The product is pirated, I'm closing the thread since the original issue is resolved and no further discussion is required.  If it is please start a new thread.
