Same discs, same Creator special edition 2011 with VHS to DVD.
copies and burns, but won't finalize. Have waited up to 2 hours with the "finishing" circle still spinning and spinning
Any help would be appreciated.

So lets try this...
TURN OFF your Anti Virus during these steps!
Then start to Install the Program, only choose Repair when it is offered.
Updates to Roxio will have to be installed.
You may turn your AV back on after you Reboot and use the Help to check for updates

Jim, Sorry for the long delay in replying. Thanks for trying to help. I tried those steps. No success. I've gave up on the vhs to dvd program and am just using the longer steps of copy to hard drive, edit and then burn to disc. It worked for a few burns and then Videowave started to crash everytime I attempt to burn. I've checked my dvd burner region setting - Okay! I''ve changed the compatability settings back to XP service pack 3. (Worked a couple of times and videowave starts to crash again. I've been able to successfully burn continuously with windows movie maker using the same files I imported with Roxio. I've also successfully burned with VideoPad and DVD Author using the same system and same discs (sony -R and TDK -R) Not a conflict between Roxio and the last two programs as these were downloaded after the problems with Roxio. I did not have this problem with Roxio using Win Vista but with Win 7 64 bit, it just doesn't want to work correctly. Also when I use the win trouble shooter, I'm told that Roxio just isn't compatible with Win 7. I would like to use Roxio because when it did work those few times, It was much faster than the other programs mentioned. Right Now, I'm at the point of just saying screw it and go buy a different progam completely. BTW, I also tried the Roxio support team which is Corel had a lot of useless suggestions. I've googled this problem and there are a whole lot of people with the same problem (and the same results) Sorry I wasn't able to give you a positive result, but thanks again for trying to help

Creator 2011 as well as EVD 3 are fully Win7 compatible! If you are having compatibility issues with these 2 programs and Win7 it would be because you created the issues when you tried to fix things
Creator can go astray on occasion. When it does, you will see a program within the Suite crash or there will be burning issues. One of the suspects for this is a Reg Cleaner. (I have yet to see one that did anyone any good)
But that is not the only time it can go bad - I just ran a repair last week on my Creator 2012...
99.9% of us capture to HDD ~ Edit ~ then Burn. It isn't "slower" at all and is far more reliable than trying to go directly to disc.
If you have another solution, and are happy with that, go ahead.
If you want to get Creator & EVD3 running, there is another way to conduct the repair process, more involved.
Let us know what you want to do...
Also, I suspect you don't even have EVD 3 since you have the 2011 Special Edition??? More likely you have the 201B Version that comes with the SE

Here is what I suggest you try next:
Download and run the Revo Uninstaller - in Moderate Mode only!
(this will remove all traces of Creator 2011 & EVD2 but only use 'moderate' mode)
Reboot and turn off any Anti Virus software and firewall you are using.
(they can interfere with the install that is next)
Insert the disc and stop the install!
Then use Explore to set the Properties of the Seteup.exe on the disc as outlined in this post, HERE
(this will insure no Compatibility issues)
Then Run or Open the Setup.exe program and install the software.
You can then turn your AV & Firewall back on after it completes and reboot your PC
I hope this will return everything to normal for you! Let us know

Jim, My mistake. My original post was about Easy VHS to DVD (not ver 3...My bad) The problem also occurred with MyDVD burning. I rechecked the solutions I received from the Corel Support
and none of them had your fix (which is the correct fix). I mistakenly followed the compatability fix reported by some other users which really just compounded the problem. (Again, You were
right). I reset the compatability to Win 7 and again did the repair with the Anti Virus off. VOILA!!! This time it worked perfectly. Kudos to you, Jim. Your moniker "Digital Guru" is justly deserved.
Thank You for the fix (actually it was a double fix)

0 downloadsWith 15+ Versions plus several variations among them, Support can get a little overwhelmed
I have the advantage of sticking to the 5-6 I have installed around the house, along with 40 pages of notes
Really glad you got it running again!
