For as long as I've been using Tivo Transfer, I've had this intermittent problem. I have Tivo Transfer set to launch upon boot. Every so often (about 1 in 5 boots), it attempts to launch and fails, with the message "Another instance of TiVo Transfer is already running - TiVo Transfer is in use by _cvmsroot. Only one copy can be running at a time." If I manually launch TiVo transfer after that, it works fine.
I'm currently running 10.7.4 on a mid 2007 iMac.

Sorry, I've never encountered this and don't know what may be its cause. It seems to think the TiVo Transfer application is already open. What happens if you just keep the application open and don't quit it when you're done?

I leave TiVo Transfer open all of the time. I don't quit it when I'm done. The only time it quits is when I power down the machine. It is when I boot up (often) that I get the error.
