I have a question that seems difficult for me to get answered on this site. I have the product "Roxio Creator MyDVD COMBO Plus Version 6.1.6" and it has been running into an issue recently. It first started with trying to import videos. When I tried to import any type of video, an error would popup saying "Roxio has encountered a problem and needs to close." So, I decided to reinstall it. When I did, it would install about 3/4 of the way and then fail saying "Error with writing to the database." Still, we tried the program to see if it works, but instead, it tries to open and then says "Roxio has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I can't seem to find any information on my type of product on this site and whether I can upgrade to a newer version.

Check with Dell as it is their OEM version, they provide all support for this version.

If you have a disc with that program or you have a disk partition where you can get to that program so it is available for re-installation.

1) Uninstall the program using the free version of Revo Uninstaller (Link).  Use the Moderate Mode only!
2) Update your computer using these guidelines.  No need to update the burner unless you have issues with it.
3) Turn off your anti-virus and reinstall the program.

Overagressive Registry Cleaners are sometimes the root of issues with programs that suddenly stop running.  Do not use them even if they are part of another software package (like anti-virus programs).
