I hope someone can please help me or I need to take the EMC8 back and get my money back. It has been a huge uphill battle to get this program to work correctly. I had EMC7 with no problems at all. I have installed, uninstalled 5 times, used Roxio zap to clean out old roxio files etc. I put slideshow with photos in videowave, add audio, check preview, click burn project, everything looks great, says 100% complete. Put disc in computer and it flashes and I can hear a buzz from drive, nothing happens. Go to 3 different DVD players, nothing, not title etc. Can someone please tell me if this is finalization problem, what do you think I might be doing wrong that I can't think of. Wife ready to kill me with the hours I am putting in on trying to make this crap work. Also, tried calling roxio support but waited for a half hour and finally hung up.
HP Pavillion A450N
1 Gb memory
Do have Nero 6.3 on computer
I hope someone can help me, thank you.
There are a lot of possibilities.
1) Will the discs play on your computer? Home DVD players can be picky about both home burned DVDs and format (plus or dash R). Yes, there may be a slight difference between the discs created by V7 vs V8.
2) You indicated that you did the project in VideoWave. I assume you saved it. Did you try to burn from VideoWave or did you take the project into MyDVD and burn it from there? If so, try using the iso (image file) options, uncheck the other options. When the file has been created, pen Disc Copier and copy the iso file to the disc.
3) There is a possibility that there is an image, audio file, video file or even timing on a transition that could be causing the problem. When you have your project loaded into VideoWave, click on the output icon (looks like a film reel) output your project to a mpg2 for DVD best quality file. If there is a problem with the file the encoding will stop, note the time and go back to VideoWave to see if there is something going on that could be a problem like the start of a new music cut, the start of a new video clip, timing on a transition, etc.
40 What brand and format disc are you using; you could have a few bad discs in a stack or even a bad stack. Use better quality discs that your burner manufacture recommends.
4) Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card and other hardware.
5) Se if there is a
firmware update for the burner and install that being real careful that you follow directions. There doesn't seem to be much new since 2004. You may want to check at the burner manufacturer web site for new firmware.
6) A buzzing from the burner? They should almost be silent. You could have a bad burner, burner connection, etc.
7) Make sure that you do not have drag-to-disc and InCD installed at the same time. You may just want to uninstall all packet wrting programs unless you really need them. They can take over your burner or worse.
Post back on some of the questions I asked/suggested.
If you are VideoWave and/or MyDVD to burn the file, it is not a finalization issue. My bet is that you have a bad burner; contact HP to get a replacement.
