This is similar to the problems others have had regarding adding a title and no menu buttons appearing. It all started around the time everyone else starting seeing the problem, BUT I never installed IE7 Beta. I have IE6 verions 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2.

I resinstalled EMC7.1, DirectX 9.0c, .Net framework, ATI's latest drivers; and still no luck

I still think all this had to do with a recent MS patch update.

Other System information: P4 3.0 / 1.25GB Ram.
DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Card name: RADEON 9600 SERIES
Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
Chip type: ATI RADEON 9600 Series AGP (0x4150)
DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz)
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4150&SUBSYS_00021002&REV_00
Display Memory: 128.0 MB
Current Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (70Hz)
Driver Name: ati2dvag.dll
Driver Version: 6.14.10.6631 (English)
Driver Package Version 8.282-060802a-xxxxxxx

I'm having the identical problem and agree with the MS patch idea. Please post if you've figured this out. Perhaps Roxio just wants us to upgrade.

Add me to the list with this problem.
Had IE 7.....removed to no avail.
If it is a MS patch issue....I wonder if using restore to revert back would correct the problem?

Fixed this problem by removing three patches to microsoft office.
I am not sure which ones they are , but they where downloaded from july and august.
I do remember one was a powerpoint patch.
If I can pull up the exact ones that I removed I will post.

Don't know if this is the same problem --

I put together a production in DVD builder, with titles, menu buttons, etc. Saved it, but when I opened it later, all of the menu buttons were gone, however the titles were in the Production Editor, in the bottom half of the screen. Is this what everyone else is experiencing?

One interesting thing - I opened up an older production (one that had already been burned to DVD), no problems; everything was there.

God, I hate computers......

_________

I am having the same problem with adding titles to a dvd builder project. A google search found a forum that tied it to the IE 7 beta. I uninstalled the beta and ran dvd builder and everything was back to normal. BUT I could not surf the web with IE 6 that was left behind. I tried to reinstall IE 6 but to no avail. It kept telling me I had a newever version installed.

I then went back and installed IE 7 Internet Explorer 7 Release Candidate 1 for Windows XP SP2 hoping that I would be able to surf the internet and use dvd builder. When I did the internet worked fine but dvd builder was back to no titles. I am thinking about uninstalling IE 7 and just using firefox. Firefox and dvd builder were working fine together.

Has anybody heard that this problem exists with later Roxio versions. Maybe I upgrade to solve the problem but don't want to spend the money without knowing.

There have been reports of problems using IE 7 with both EMC 8 & 9 (there are posts all over the 9 boards about it). Once MS releases IE7 (it is still a beta in development after all), it is expected it will be compatible with at least v9, and I would think likely to be with v8 & 7 also. If you can't get all the remnants of IE7 off your machine, try it's feedback area for help doing so.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I was successful in unintalling ie7 rc1 and this time ie 6 came up nicely and Roxio was working normally now. It appears that IE 7 beta does not uninstall nicely but IE 7 rc1 does and everything is back to normal.
thanks
