Hello,

I just got EMC8, and even installed the patch. However, when my PC restarts, I lose my Wireless-G network. I'm running a Dell XPS 400 with a Pentium D 820 installed, with WinXP Home Edition on board. My wireless card is a Belkin High Speed Wireless-G, and I do happen to have a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse with it.

Has anyone experienced a problem installing this program, and then having their Wi-Fi poop out on them? I mean, my PC doesn't even recognized the router or want to pick up a signal.

I did a System Restore before installation - just in case - and now everything is back to normal. However, I would like to have something on my system that will let me burn DVDs. If I have to go to Nero, I have no problem with it.

I'm using Linksys WRTG54S and have had no problems.
Did you try installing again to see if the same thing happened?  I don't believe I've ever heard this happen before.  You say it happens when you boot up, but can you restart it after boot up?

Well, I restart ok, but after my systray icons finish their march, My network shows as not connected. When I try to repair the connection...nothing. I've made the installation more than two times, with identical results.

This is just a wild guess but could this have something to do with Media Manager?Do you have this enabled and wathing folders? If you do try disabling it and restarting.

A second thought is maybe it's Live Share. You can disable this from Media Manager also if it's running.

Not necessarily. Even with a minimal download (that doesn't include Media Manager), the problem is still there.

I am still losing any kind of response to my wireless network. It won't refresh, let alone get recognized. I even inactivated the driver and turned off my antivirus.

What is going on here? Could it be that I have a dual-core CPU inside? Just thinking about that because I had a problem with iTunes, for instance, until Apple Computer fixed that particular problem.
