Just got my Easy VHS to DVD3 installed. Hooked everything up but my computer does not find the new USB device. That causes the No Video Detected message. I'm running Windows XP Professional on a Dell Dimension 5150.

Did you follow the instructions to plug in your USB device only after you installed the software?   Are you trying to copy from a VHS to your computer or are you trying another source?

Turn on the VHS recorder/player and put it on pause.  Open the program and wait until the program recognized the USB device.  If it is not properly set up, the screen that shows how to set up the device will show.  Does it or are you able to get past that part?

That computer is pretty near the bottom for the use of this program. Make sure you have done all these things (except the optical drive update)  and make sure that nothing else is running while capturing.  If the computer cannot keep up, you will get skipped frames and other artifacts during capture and editing.

i'm having similar problem.
Original purchased vhs to dvd version 1 only for the usb video capture device (webcasting)
have used it for 3 years on a windows vista computer.
recently bought a windows 7 hp and was hoping to just download updated drivers. usb device not recognized
i then thought i had to upgrade to vhs to dvd3 in order for the device to be windows 7 compatible
after paying 20 bucks (well technily 16.99 b/c i found a code) still exact same problem. Windows does not recognize usb device.
have unistalled and reinstalled drivers from numerous diff places with all the same result.
in device manager it only shows "unknown device"

yes i did.
The first time on the new hp windows 7 computer i just plugged in the usb device.
I then went into the device manager and deleted the "unknown device" and restarted the computer.
i then installed the drivers from the roxio video capture cd and plugged in the device after. = "usb not recognized"
uninstalled drivers from control panel and deleted unknown device
i then tried installing the drivers from the vhs to dvd version 1 and then plugging in the device = "usb not recognized"
uninstalled drivers from control panel and deleted unknown device
i repeated this with drivers from roxio's website. supposed the ones from the vhs to dvd 3 plus = "usb not recognized"
uninstalled drivers from control panel and deleted unknown device
i then paid to upgrade to vhs to dvd 3 plus software and downloaded it then plugged in device = windows is trying to instal drivers..... windows failed to load drivers.
unplugged the device and replugged it in = "usb not recognized"
