Slideshow in MyDVD8

I am new to myDVD and am wondering if I am doing something wrong.
I am trying to create a slideshow using the slideshow assistant. When I click on add photos I can browse through my photos and make a selection. It tells me I have selected a photo and the size of that file. What it doesn't do is put the name in the File name box. I can type it in but when I click on add photos it doesn't import into the assistant screen. Nothing happens at all. I cannot go back into select another file until I close the assistant down and reopen.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but this didn't help.
Any suggestions??

Forgive me if I'm reading your post incorrectly.
Do you have the Creator Suite or just MyDVD? If you have the suite, use VideoWave to simply drag the files to the first blank space on the storyline.
If you only have MyDVD, just select the image you want to add and select add photo. Use CTRL/Enter to select a group of images and then select add photo. They are added - no reason to type things in.
The acceptable formats are listed in the bottom window just below the space for the titles.

I don't have the suite I just have MyDVD.
I am using the correct formats and whether I type or click doesn't matter. When I click on Add photos (it is not greyed out) it doesn't work. I think there must be a problem with the program which is why I uninstalled and reinstalled but it still hasn't fixed the problem.
I have entered a ticket with the help desk so hopefully they will be able to tell me how to fix the problem.

In MyDVD, you have a slide show assistant. This is a screen shot of what it should look like when you goto add pictures. Is this what you see? What is missing. If you click on an image to select it, and then click on the button to "Add Photos" what happens?
What kind of images are these (format)?
The next thing to look at is your computer and video card/chip. Please post what you have.
You might want to try Windows> Start> Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs> Roxio then repair.

Maybe nothing.
So start by updating your video card drivers and making sure you have the most current version of DirectX installed (9.0c).
If that doesn't help, post back with your system specs so someone can hopefully offer other suggestions.
