Hi, I really need help. My friend purchased one of those new sony hdd camcorders. Now she had windows me so they didn't have a driver for windows me plus her computer is very slow and not much hdd space. So she recorded her sons first birthday and I offered her to make the dvd for her. So she brought the camera over and I got the files on my harddisk. Then she returned the camera.
Now there are little video clips in mpeg formate (175). So first I made the dvd with roxio8. The settings where in best quality ( the video is 50 min long) interlaced. So I got a very bad video quality with horizontal lines everywhere. So I made one dvd with progressive and the result bad quality with boxes all over.
I burn to iso file first.
Next I tried roxio 7.5 video quality very good but audio very bad. It has a constant clacking in the background.
My brother has roxio 6 so I tried that which just told me the audio( ac 3 or something) of the video clips is not compatible with roxio 6 and the dvd will be mute.
So I tried nero 7 which just tells me that it wont except more than 99 files.
I am about to just give up and give her the files like they are just burn them to a dvd.
Now is there anything else I can try?
need help

Don't know why you ended up with 175 files for 50 minutes of video???
Of concern is what Quality are these files? I am hoping they are 720 X 480 @ 8 or 9mbps.
If much lower than that, there is little that can be done to improve things.

As for how to get around the 99 file limit, bring the clips into VideoWave and essentially "merge" them into one (or several) longer clips. Then bring those into DVD Builder, or export to DV AVI files, and bring those into Nero.
Don't know if that helps or not.

Its like Dave guessed alot of few second clips. but the quality is fine .... I just end up either with roxio 7 very good video quality but constant clucking in voice or roxio 8 which the voice is fine but video just bad.

My thought to your first question is that someone shot a lot of 10 and 20 second clips.

Thats a good ideo I will try that... my only concern is that when I last exported as dv avi files I lost a lot of quality... I cut like a little clip for the menu and added a picture when I exported it there was a major quality loss. But I should try again
thanx
