Why, after everytime I have my LP's recorded to the program, edit them and then try to export them, the program freezes up, I have to use ctrl/alt/delete to close the program, then start all over again. This has happened several times and am ready to throw the EMC8 CD in the trash. VERY frustrating!!! Even if I use the sound editor, it would freeze up as well. Maybe uninstall program and try to reinstall it? I have recorded one LP so far with no problems. Only took 1 1/2 weeks to get that far. ANY help/comments would be great!!!!
Thank you in advance!!!

Please put your computer specs in your signature so if we have to do more trouble shooting, it will always be there. How much defraggmented free space do you have on your hard drive? Do you have Windows Media Player 7.1 or higher on your computer? What OS and SP? Have you checked for viruses and malware (two or three different programs)? What else do you have running at the same time? The symptoms that you describe are usually found with video processing but not normally with audio.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I have used the repair method. I have uninstalled/reinstalled. Now I can't even get the program to open at all. If I go to start>programs it shows that it is there but will not start up at all.
I have version 10 Windows Media Player. Windows XP w/SP2. No viruses. I don't know how to find how much defraggmented space I have, nor do I know how to put all the PC specs in my signature space. Not sure what else is running at the same time. I haven't changed my pc since the first LP i managed to get copied over to my drive. Since that first one, nothing but trouble/frustration. Is there any other programs out there that I can use to put LP's to digital format?

In answer to your last question, yes; there are many but if your computer is as screwed up as I think it is, then none of them will be satisfactory. Some of the other statements indicate that you may not be aware of the maintenance required on computers. Forgive me if I am wrong and/or if I am being too basic.
To put information in your signature, go to My Controls (at the top) and then look to the left to edit signature. Put in the information similar to what I have or some other guru's information. You can get that information and more from a free download "Belarc Adviser" --Google for it.
Sounds like you have not been defragging your hard drive; this is a must maintenance procedure especially when you are using programs like this. Go to your Windows screen and click on the icon for My Computer. You will get a pop up Window listing some equipment. One of those will be your hard drive (probably "c/". Right click on it. The next screen will tell you how much free space you have available. Now do this. There is a button for "disc clean up".. Click on that and your computer will search for UN-necessary files. When it is done, click to clean and then to confirm. When that finishes, click on the "tools" tab and then select defraggment, select your "c:/ drive and wait. If you have not done this recently, it may take a hour or more. If you have less than about 15% free space, the defraggmenter will not work. You must get rid of some programs or files to clear at least that much space.
If that doesn't fix it and since it worked once and now doesn't work, start looking at other changes that may have occurred. You indicated that there were no viruses but did you check for malware? Free programs you can use are Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and destroy and Microsoft's Defender. Have you upgraded or installed any software since you were first able to do this? Did you install anything like IE 7 beta? How about new virus definitions for your anti-virus. If you do not have enough space on your c:/ drive, the last install/uninstall may have been bad. I can't tell unless you give me more information.

Thank you for your input. I am very aware of the maintenance required in the proper operation of my computer. I defrag my hard drive once a month. Virus protection is run daily. My free space is approx. 78% of the hard drive and always has been. Yes, it has been checked for malware as well. I have not added/removed any software with the acception of EMC8. Did not install IE 7 beta.
What I found was, when I checked to see what version I was running, that in the help>about>then the version of the product said that it was updated, but I ran the update anyway, and things have been working great. Knock on wood, no probelms yet. The program works the way I think that it should. All programs open as they should, no problems with pc freezing up. Right now, life is good!
Thank you much for your input!!
