Copy will run with DVDs. When I try to copy a CD that was created in the same drive, it says load a CD and retry.  I tried disabling Rxfilter, no help

1. Try using a different brand/type of media.
2. Get the most updated firmware for your drive.  You can obtain firmware updates from the manufacturer of your drive.
3. Clean your drive's laser lens.

Does Windows recognize the blank disc?
You need to update the firmware for your recorder, not the drivers.
Other than copy, can you burn anything to a CD?
Are you using Disc Copier or Copy function in Roxio Home?

Ok ... this is my first time here ... I have same problem when trying to copy a Music or Self Created Music Disc.   The Rom will play a CD in Windows Media Player, and also plays DVD's in Power DVD ... but when using copy feature in EMC 8, the error message appears asking for a disc to be inserted .. which is already there!!
This has been going on for nearly two weeks, and the really odd thing is that two of my friends using EMC 8 have exactly the same problem.
Will check out the firmware option and still investigating other avenues.  Will let you all know if I find the answer.
