When I unchecked the box for "normalize audio," the burn proceeded to completion. (Not entirely successfully, but that's another topic.)

It's unchecked! I also have all the updates that are recommended. I see that I am not the only person that has this or some other problem and I just wished Roxio would admit that this software has nothing but bugs in it. How many people here have found actually an answer that had fixed their problem? I don't think very many. I am not happy with this program and wished I would never bought it. I can't seem to get any answers on how to fix this problem and that makes me mad.
Thank you for trying to help though.
People.....be aware of EMC 8 suit...it's full of bugs!!!!!!!

I take issue with your statement. You can rant or you can ask for help. Probably 98% of the people who bought the program have no problem; the only people who come here are those with issues, those that just want to ask how to do something or those trying to help. Look at the number of members for these boards, divide that by about 10 because there are other programs supported including MAC software and then by about half for those who are just answering questions or are asking how to do something like adjust music, use overlays etc. So around 500 people have problems. I really don't think that relates to a buggy program that everyone has problems with.
Let's see, you made a DVD before and it worked fine. Now you can't do it. How is that a program bug?
What has changed on your computer -- other new software, updates to anti-virus, not enough free and defraggmented free space on your computer, different/wrong video formats, install IE7 beta and hundreds of other things. It is pretty difficult to make suggestions from a post that simply says it worked once but doesn't now.
Are you really trying to burn a DVD to a CD? (first post) That doesn't work. You would have to select CD or SVCD from the file menu before you start working in MyDVD. If you want to burn a DVD, you have to select that.
No, I do not work for or even have stock in Sonic/Roxio; I just like to help if people really want it.

Well, nothing has changed from the last time I made a DVD. I'm running Firefox and was running firefox the last time also.
Yes I am really trying to burn a DVD to a DVD and I have selected that. I even defracted my computer the other day and I even reinstalled Roxio, but nothing changed.
I can't come up with anything that has changed on my computer since the last time I made a DVD.
I may not be as smart as you but I do know that I have not made any changes and I just can't figure out why it's not working now. If you have any more answers for me, that could help me, that would be appreciated.
I also removed my email and thank you for reminding me about spam. I am just frustrated and just looking for some resolution for my problem.

Perhaps if you explained exactly what you are trying to do and how you are doing it someone may be able to help. "I am trying to burn a DVD to a DVD" does not tell us very much. Are you trying to make a copy of a DVD? If yes what kind of DVD is it, commercial or one you have made?

Some overlays, transitions, effect will not work with all video cards. The video card has to be completely compatible with DirectX 9c other wise you will have problems.
You can use Videowave to check where you might be having problems by outputting to DVD mpeg2. If there are problems Videowave may stop at the point where there is a problem and you might be able to dtermine what the problem is.

Please list your computer specs, especially video card and the DirectX version you are running. Use Videowave to output your production to mpeg2, it should stop where there may be a problem. Where did the pictures and audio come from?

A lot more information on what you are doing, what program/version you are using, what are your system specs, etc, is needed before any help can be offered.
It is also recommended you start a separate thread for your problem. Attaching your problem to someone elses thread just creates confusion when responding. You cannot burn DVD video to a CD.

1-click Start on the task bar
2-select Run
3-type dxdiag in the input box then click Ok
The DirectX Diagnostic Tool window opens and should display most of your system specs including the DirectX version running

You beat me to it.
Kenny, you may want to exhaust all other avenues before starting to pay $35 for phone support. There are knowledge base articles and internet chat support that are free.

Are you really trying to burn to a CD? If so, make sure that you have that selected in your project. You cannot burn a DVD movie to a CD and vice versa. Have you considered burner problems or simply that you have a bunch of bad discs? If you use generic you may have a problem. Beg a couple of good ones from a friend. Also consider updating the firmware for your burner. Go to the manufacturer's site and get the latest firmware. Be careful and follow the instructions exactly or you will be buying a new burner.
