I have been using this program for about 15 hours solid for two projects. Two simple projects. One was a picture slideshow that absolutley had to loop. Another was a picture slideshow with a menu. Pretty simple.
Now, hindsight being what it is, these are 15 minute projects minus burn time, yet here I sit 15 hours later, wanting to give RoxAnne a taste of the back of my hand.
God Bless this forum.
I want to "give shout-outs to my peeps" (or whatever those kids say these days) to Grandpabruce and Grussel as they and many others unknowingly walked me through both projects. (once i found the forum).
I think EMC8 is an incredible program that could easily stand above all others if Sonic/Roxio culd manage to stop by a forum and see what all the fuss is about.
To be honest I am extremley pleased with this program (although it took me 15 hours to relize I was working on 15 minute projects), but had I visited this forum before I made my purchase, you had better beleive I would have been slapping stuff together using Nero.
I really hope there R&D teams are doing something to address the bugs that I have read about from others yet thankfully have not experienced. I hope the reconfigure the help menus and tutorials or lack thereof. And I hope they jump on the "sub out customer service and support to UYTDJHFVHDRTD India" bandwagon which while it is sad that Americans are losing jobs, and i can rarley understand most of the techs I get, they actually do solve my problems. And finaly, in ECM9, they need to include a link to an online game where to can brutaly & violently beat RoxAnne within an inch of her digital, unhelpful, life.
I will continue to use this program as I think it is the best out there, but I will use these forums just as much, cause I really want to know how to use this thing. Thanks all and please respond, I'd like to know if i'm the only one that feels like this. Now, onto hour 16...
EMC8 is awsome but...

I was rolling on the floor when I read your "beat-Roxanne" suggestion for EMC9
Roxanne is a clever idea but I wonder what the statistics are on what percentage of users are helped by her as opposed to just experiencing a frustrating waste of time?
Perhaps a brutal looking and talking Viking-pillager type would work better?
After you refuse his suggestions a certain number of times, he would just insult you and tell you to stop wasting his time.

hi StrykNAccord,
as what has been said before, that was funny on the Roxian comment, but alas will never happen,
im glad you didnt go for Nero, as at least Roxio provide us users here a board to help each other, as Nero dosnt have any support boards... so the help Bruce ect gave you, you would have been on you own there if nero was the app you used.
you will find the more you use the app the more you become skilled at this sort of production, keep working on it and the better it will be,
wish you luck and keep up the feed back as we here dont work for Roxio and we all do this the same as you , to sort out our issues, im sure Bruce ect will be happy at you feed back...
have fun

I just saw this post. I have dropped in a little in the past 2 days and have not read all of the messages. Thanks for the nice comments, but I have no clue how I helped you, but I am glad that I did.

While I dont reply to posts on the weekend. I am in the forums on a daily basis during the week.
I didnt understand if you wanted us to contract out to India or not, but our North Amercian support is handled 100% by Canadians and Americans. Personally I like to give the Canadians a hard time about things in general.
I also want to let you in on a small secret and that is that we are working on an entire overhaul of Roxann so you will find it more usefull in the future. Thats about all I can say for now about it as we are still early in the process.

Hi french toast,
A suggestion. Dump Roxann. Just let us keyword search or browse the knowledge base, and continually update the knowledge base so we are looking at the same information the Support people look at.
I know I would have been significantly less frustrated.
