Hello all... It's been such a busy summer I haven’t been able to check in here... I hope all of the gurus are still around to help…
Here’s my problem that I'm hoping you can help me with.
I created a slideshow in EMC 8 with about 60 photos. When I finished inputting all of the photos and music I tried to edit it in VW. VW opened for the edit but the slideshow never appeared. So I tried to close it out thinking it was frozen… VW would minimize but it would not close. So I had to shut it down through End Task. Then I repeated this over and over trying to open other files... nothing opens.
Just recently I installed Adobe CS2. I also changed desktop area settings within the past month or so but I changed it to 1280 x960 today but that didn’t work. I can’t think of anything else that has changed… I haven’t tried to open EMC in so long so I don’t know when the problem could have started.
Oh... also, the slideshow preview would not work either...
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Angie

I guess I'm just a little confused per one of the statements you made--
"I created a slideshow in EMC 8 with about 60 photos. When I finished inputting all of the photos and music I tried to edit it in VW. VW opened for the edit but the slideshow never appeared"
I assume you started with the Videowave program to insert all of your photos and other files. What I don't understand is if Videowave is already open, what does the statement mean when you say "VW opened for the edit....." ??. VW is already opened and you should be doing all your editing right there in Videowave which is already opened. I must be missing something here.
Once you insert all of your files you are using in Videowave (either Story board view or Timeline view, depending on what you are inserting) you usually edit the photos in stortboard, and edit any music in timeline. once all your editing is completed, start at the beginning slide and click on the START or Play Icon under the preview screen. Again, am i missing something here ?

HI Frank, thanks for your response. I understand how to use the timeline/storyboard and how to edit. I created the slideshow using the slideshow option in the photo category of the main menu. After I chose all of my photos I had the option to finish by doing a few things... My choice was to edit in VW. When I clicked that option, VW opened but my photos never appeared to edit. Then I tried shutting VW down and it wouldn't. I tried opening and closing VW a few times after that and wasn't able to open any of my videos to edit. So this is my problem... VW is opening but the files I'm trying to open in it to edit will not appear in the storyboard or the timeline. There is nothing there to edit. Let me know if I'm still not making sense. Thanks!
It is a good idea to compose your slideshow in videowave from the start, do all your composing and editing, save the project. At this point open MyDVD add your videowave project and put together your menus. If at a later time you decide to edit your project again, just open it up in videowave and do the editing and save. When your ready to burn to a disc you can open up MyDVD choose your project and you will see that all the editing changes will be there. Videowave is a flexible application and is designed for compiling and editing. I am not sure what is going on in the application that you chose to put together your project, I have seen where some people have had problems with using the slideshow application.

Boy, Patty is right on when she suggested how to make a slide show. I have also heard of problems caused by starting to make a slide show using that program and it seems like there are also others that have had a problem too. Not sure if it was the same kind of problem as yours though.
I haven't used that program before, but if you started it in "Slide Show", have you tried going back and bringing up your original slide show there ? If it's still there, you at least haven't lost what you started. And again not having ever used "slide Show" to make one, I am not sure how you can get it back into Videowave to edit it. Does Slide Show have any editing capabilities ? I'll have to do a test run using it and see what I can find out. In the mean time I do see now what you did and are trying to do. Maybe someone else on our forum has had some experience with editing in that program and can assist you more. So stay on this thread and hopefully we can get you back on track

Hi Patty and Frank...
Thank you for your suggestions... I normally do everything in videowave... this time I got lazy and figured I'd have the slideshow creator do the work for me... go figure... i ended up with triple the work now... Anyway... I am able to find the slideshow. I just cant open that or anything else in VW. weird... It has to have something to do with my system, I just cant pinpoint what... Thats why I mentioned CS2... I'm wondering if anyone else has had any problems with the two running on the same system... Ughhh...
Thanks...
Thanks...
