I've finished making a slide show in DVD builder in Roxio 6 with music , text, and transitions. I would like to upgrade the text and transitions to make my slideshow fancier. What's in EMC 8 that is not in EMC 7 that will help me make a fancier slide show?

It would depend upon your computer specs. Both programs are great and will give you a lot more options than in v6, however, v8 needs a lot more power and higher end video cards. Be sure and check out the requirements before switching.
V9 is about to come out so you might check that out also.
