I am really upset, I spent days reviewing my options between the different software and finally decide on EMC 8, purchasing it on Sunday.  Now when I start the program I am told i can upgrade to 9 and save 30%.  Why is this so hidden, and why such a weak discount for someone who just purchased the prior version two days ago?!!!  I would have just waited and bought EMC 9 to begin with.  Now I have to basically rebuy the same thing if I want the newest features which I think I do.  How do you not inform customers so close to a new version?  The EMC website is still all about EMC 8 and buying EMC 8 yet EMC 9 is available or very soon available?!!!!!!

I know companies like Adobe offer free upgrades for prior versions purchased within 60 days of a new release.

Sorry, just venting as I learned I have to waste $70 because it was so well hidden that a new version was about to be released, although I am sure there was a reason for it.

Have you called the companie that sold you the product? or called the roxio support site? or can you still cancel the purchase and return what you have and then get the new version?

The discount applies to all EMC 8 users regardless you bought it two days ago or 8 months ago... however, if you purchase it directly from Roxio, you would be able to refund it and get EMC 9...

Yea, I assumed the discount applies to any prior version user at the same rate.  In regards to returning it, unfortunately I decided to purchase it at a local retailer, no open software returns.

Roxio support understood my concern and was extremely helpful.  It is much appreciated!
