about Fit-To-DVD
before i buy, how does this work?
currently mydvd 7 plus, has 4 manual quality choices and tells me how much space is left over, does the fit-to-dvd feature automatically fill in all space with the best resultion for all files or does it just select one of the four options for me?
if it just selects one of the four options for me there is no sense in purchasing
however sometimes i will have 400 mg leftover after burning 4 half hour tv shows from media center edition for instance. my hope is that it gives me a little better quality by using all of the available space and saves me from having to choose the resolution for each file. and instead of giving me vcd quality for instance it gives me slightly better quality than what i could pick.
also in ECM8, which version of mydvd does it come with: essentials or premiere or some other customized version?
thanks!-j

Basically, it reads what type of disc you put in your burner and adjusts how much can fit. I think a better way in 7.5 and 8 (now 9 as well) is to uncheck the fit to disc and burn to an image file no matter what size it is---within reason---and then burn the resulting ISO file with Disc Copier which will transcode the file to fit on the size disc inserted at the best possible quality. This process has worked very well for me and others.
