How Do I Turn Off Pan And Zoom
#1

I also tried creating a slideshow with no pan and zoom applied and then selectively turned on the pan and zoom (again through the pan and zoom editor). I was able to turn it on as expected but again if I tried to turn it off, it looks fine in the pan and zoom editor Preview pane but not when i return to the timeline mode.
Does anyone know how to turn off the pan and zoom once it has been enabled??
I have the latest software update for the retail version and I see the same thing on both a Dell Deminsion 4300 and an Alianware laptop
Thanks ahead of time for your help, Mike

ohh, and 1 more thing to add....it does not seem like I can change anything with the pan and zoom function after I add the initial style..basically once I choose the initial style that is what I am stuck with unless I replace the picture with a fresh version of itself in which case I loose the internal tracks associated with that picture....ideas/suggestions?? thanks

Hi, Mike
After you have change the pan & zoom to None in videowave, save the slideshow as a videowave project and exit videowave. Open videowave again and open your slideshow. The pan & zoom that you changed to NONE should now be gone. I get the same action as you do as far as selecting None but when played in videowave, the motion still remains. If I save, exit, then reopen the slideshow, the motion is gone.
I know you should not have to do that, but at least it make work for you. As a note, most of us use videowave to build are projects from scratch rather than the slideshow assistant. You have many more options and videowave is much more flexible.
Hope this helps

Hey Merv, This worked!! Thanks for the suggestion.
And also, yes I also edit slideshows in videowave after I do the initial creation in slideshow assistant....the main reason being I am able to apply the pan and zoom option to all the pictures at once and it is applied on an individual picture basis so now with your tip I will be able to selectively turn off the pan and zoom or change what style I want. Do you know if there is a way to apply pan and zoom to all the pictures at once in videowave such that I can still change individual pictures if I do the initial creation of the slideshow in videowave?? The reason I like this is if I have say 200 pictures and I only want to turn the pan and zoom off on a small number of these, it is quicker to apply to all and then selectively turn them off.
Thanks again, Mike

To answer your first question, Mike, I do not know of a way to apply pan & zoom to multiple photos at the same time in videowave. I think they have to be done individually. So, in your case, starting from slideshow assistant and then editing in videowave may be the best way to start.
To clear the proxy files, click Tools\Options in Videowave. Click the CLEAR button under proxy files. It is a good idea to clear these periodically if for no other reason to free up space on your hard drive. Note, the files will be automatically copied back to that folder when you open a currrent project in Videowave.

If you want to apply automotion to a selected group of slides, use the cntrl/click to select the slides you want to add the motion to and then select one slide and right click and apply auto-motion.
I tried this on a few slides and I got the motion but no Zoom. Perhaps not a large enough sample since it is supposed to be one of the automotions.

Thanks, Steve. I did not know that could be done. Learned something else today

Thanks to both of you (Merv and Steve) for your very useful suggestions. It seems like for any change to take effect you have to save, exit and then re-enter videowave as merv pointed out...hopefully roxio will catch this in the next update.
Also it would be nice if you could apply a certain type of motion to the selected set of pictures...such as all vertical pan or all horitontal pan for instance rather then the seemingly randon 'automotion' only. oh well, just thinking/wishing out loud I guess....still is good I know how to change them now.
It would also be nice to be able to apply a specific overlay to the selected set of pictures...it seems like you can only add an overlay to a single selected picture OR the entire production..not the selected set...maybe another neat feature to get into a future release??
And one last thing, I tried deleting (clearing) the proxies files as suggested and that did NOT seem to help...oh well, worth a shot.
Thanks all again, Mike
