Hi everyone  :)

I am having problems fitting things onto DVD's

I am using 4.7gb discs but dont seem to be able to fit very long movie files onto them.

For example i put a file on a disc the other day that was 70mins and i had to put it on at medium quality with low quality audio.

I dont understand this as i use the same discs in my dvd recorder and that lets me put up to 8hours on a single disc!!

Hopefully someone can explain how i get fit more onto a disc

Thanks in advance

Chris

It is a math thing, you cannot have Quality and Time at the same time…

A 4.7GB DVD will hold about 1 hour of movie material at Best Quality.

To get more time on one, you have to degrade quality.

The solution is simple. You "Burn" your movie from Builder at Best Quality to File, not to disc. This creates an ISO file.

You then use Disc Copier to burn that ISO file to disc and allow it re-compress to fit.

DC has a more flexible render engine and will render just enough to fit on your target media.
