I have my computer attached to my 720p projector and get the following error at start
Change Display Settings
In order for this application to run correctly, your display settings need to be changed to 1024x768 at 32 bit color.
click OK to continue, or cancel to quit.
Any registry setting to get arround this, so i can use the application???
1024X768 is the minimum for some of the applications. As far as I know, there is no way around it.

i already did that. PEOPLE RUNNING 720P CAN'T RUN CREATER CLASSIC, this rules out all people running home theaters who can't afford a 1080p projector. I believe this isn't what Roxio intended, and should be addressed.

Mutt, maybe you should send your request directly to Roxio. This is a users forum.

The software is intended to be run on a computer with a monitor at 1024X768. It's a fact that most people are using that resolution OR HIGHER now.

Can you give us details on what part of that didn't work? I just tried it, first I left my screen resolution at 1280x960, started Creator Classic, then changed it to 800x600. Creator classic "overfilled" the screen a little, but it worked okay. What happened when you tried starting it with your resolution at 1024x768, then switching the screen back to 800x600?
Let us know.

It's a fact that most people are using that resolution OR HIGHER now.
The general rule here is that the higher the resolution,
the smaller the information is on the screen. Many
people find higher resolutions too difficult to read and
prefer to reset their machine to a lower setting.
Normally the default (in XP) is set to 800x600 which means the display will be 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.

Most likely the projector doesn't support anything higher than 800x600.
cdanteek - there has already been plenty research. Here is ONE. Go to bottom of the page for Display statistics. As of Jan 2006, 57% use 1024X768. 17% use higher. Granted the statistics is for browsers, but would still apply to the industry as a whole.

Media Center Edition is defaulted to 1024 X 768. That is for the ntsc tv part. You also have different resoulution settings than XP Home and PRO. Have you noticed that?
When you buy a pc you get what the pc maker wants you to have.
When I build a pc or reload the os for people on there pc's, and install the XP operating system. They have defaulted to 800 X 600.
In fact XP was the first OS to set minimum system requirements to 800 X 600 32 bit resolution!

I haven't did that in years. Not one of the major pc makers can tell me minor details like, what mother board is in that pc! I would rather have a home built ATX or BTX box.

Maybe one that you buy off the shelf does, but I am almost certain, that the one that I built last week (signature) booted up at 800x600, and I immediately changed it to 1280x1024.
I know, for a fact, that when I reformatted the one I am on now, last week, it booted up at 800x600 the first time. I run this one at 1280x1024, also.

I am not sure that the OS or the video card have anything to do with it. I think it still stems from the old default VGA monitors and booting up at a known resolution that they can handle. Once all is booted up, you install the necessary drivers for the video card, and if necessary, "install" an .inf for your monitor.
