I cannot complete the burn process. I ruin the disc so I initially put something on it. The process seems to go thru all processes and ends, the record lite blinks and at end stays steady for a while. It is slow. There is nothing on the disc. I have a Memorex external drive (USB 2). The device is fine because I can put it on my laptop and create a disc.

My desktop is a Dell 4550, Pentium 4, 2.52Ghz 1.00g ram with Creative SB Live (Current driver update). Windows XP Pro.

What are you burning to DVD, video, audio, data? You have given no information about what you are doing or how you are doing it.

I think I am using MyDVD. At the main menu I select Create a DVD. I have a project built. I saved a powerpoint presentation to JPG and added them to a "slideshow". I then added audio to the project. It has one item on the menu and that is to run the slideshow. It completes the encoding step and goes thru the burn process with no results.

This same process on my laptop burns to the disc and I can view it. I am missing something on the desktop.

I don't know what else I can tell you.
