While trying to install the update
(Update Easy Media Creator 8 Suite
Update the Retail (CD-ROM) English version of
Easy Media Creator 8.0 Suite (Build 800B85C)
to 8.05 (Build 805B30B)
the message popped up "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."

My CD is
EMC 8 Delux Suite
version 3.0.0
Build 3.0.97B
Module name: PX Engine
Build: 2.7.42a,75

By the way, this is a reinstall of EMC8 after a reinstall
(the kind you do by using control/F11 to get back like the factory install)
Thanks for any help : )

Open Creator Classic, hit help then about Creator Classic and you will see the correct build number that you have.I think you'll find you already have the 8.05 build.

If you truly have the Deluxe, there is no update for it. The version number will be 8.06XX. Earlier in your post you referred to EMC 8 Suite which is much different from the Deluxe. That patch is for very early versions of 8.0 to bring it to 8.05.
