Hi people,
I am interested in purchasing Roxio Creator NXT Pro 2 to upgrade my Roxio Creator 2012 Pro. I would like to know if I can just install the Creator NXT Pro 2 or I have to uninstall Creator 2012 Pro first and than to install the Creator NXT Pro 2.

Thanks in advance and have a nice day. :)

I don't have NXT2 but usually and based on other Roxio program upgrades, once you start the install, it should tell you if it's going to uninstall anything.  However, that doesn't mean it will work the same way with this version.
I'm guessing but since 2012 is different then NXT 2, and you don't have the first version of NXT, I would again guess that 2012 should be safe.  Of course, back up first as a precaution.

And, after it's done, do come back and let us and others know.  It seems this product is so new, there's not be time yet to update this forum with product information.

I was wondering about the ver 2 myself as to its ability to work with win 8. I have tried every way to install regular NXT and can never get past the point where you enter the ID code. It just goes off into space after entry, until I reach the limit. Then it won't even take the new ID. Seems I cannot run and load any of my previous version either now. Has Roxio quit or Corel playing games?

NXT as well as NXT 2 install on Win 8 without any problems...

You have some issues with your PC and IF you want help, start a new Topic and list your details.

Just a caution, NXT2 will remove much of Creator 2012 during installation. .  Some important things that you may use may be uninstalled  (like Media Manager).  I personally didn't like NXT2 and went back to Creator 2012.  Read the program comparisons to make sure that you really want the "new" things..  It seems to be designed with emphasis on portable devices and social media.

OOPs, you may be right.  I had forgotten that and since I don;t have it anymore, I can't check.  What was removed?

Thanks for that list Brendon.   Creator Classic was the one I was thinking about.

And that one (Creator Classic) was one of the best parts of the entire suite. Still use it practically every day on
my Creator 2012 Pro program.

Yes, it doesn't hurt to hang on to good and useful programs, even if they're not the absolute latest version. :)

The last "real" version of Creator Classic was EMC 7.5.  You could create a data disc or a music CD from the same program.  Imagine that.

I guess that someone thought it would be a good idea to dummy down their flagship program..  Well, flagship to me, anyway. :)

I purchased the ROXIO CREATOR NXT Pro 2 at the end and installed it. During the installation the “Roxio Creator 2012 Pro” has been uninstalled except “Application/CinePlayer” and “Roxio/BackOnTrack”. I see there is not so much differences than “Roxio Creator 2012 Pro” and, furthermore,  some small issues has not been fixed. I will inform you about them in another section.

Have a nice Sunday

Giampaolo
