I am trying to burn a library audio CD which requires tracks to be exactly 60", 30" and 15" but I notice when I import the tracks into iTunes the between track pause times have been added to the track time so I get 62", 32" and 17".
This could be an iTunes issue although I have noticed that my CD player has the 2" added to the tracks too so I guess it's a Toast issue. This obviously won't do for my project. Is there a way I can avoid this with Toast? I need the 2" between the tracks - just don't want that to be added to the track length.
Thanks
Z

That's strange. I don't recall ever seeing this occur. You could open the track in CD SpinDoctor where you can trim off any silence that's added to the track and export from there to iTunes. But I can't even guess where the silence is originating. It isn't from the pause time burned by Toast. That gets ignored when importing tracks.

Well there are 70 tracks on these library CDs so I can't waste time trimming off 2" from all of them. I find it strange too but it happens with Jam and Toast. I have enquired with Roxio support. Perhaps my settings somewhere are incorrect.

I just did a test and iTunes did add 2 seconds to my 15" and 30" imports but not to my 1:00 import. When I drag the tracks from the CD to the Toast audio window they show the correct length. Selecting them in that window and choosing export saves them as AIFF files to the HDD. Importing from the HDD to iTunes keeps the correct track length.
I don't know why iTunes adds the pause to tracks that are less than one-minute long. But you can use Toast's export from the Audio window as a workaround before importing to iTunes.

hmm this really is a bit of a mystery! I did a few tests myself and here's an odd one. I burned a disc with Jam and dragged the resulting audio files into Toast. The tracks showed as their correct length. I then dragged the 60" into Peak (which I used t master the original track) and guess what? 2" had been added to the end of the track!!
All very strange. I am finding it is adding 2" to all my track lengths, 15's, 30's, 60's and full tracks of 3'+.
Thanks for your help!

I'm having the same issues. Just wondering if anyone has come across any other solutions. I'm creating an indepedently produced CD single. I already have the disc face and CD cover printed with the track times. When I open the CD in iTunes, the 1st of two tracks shows the added 2 seconds. The only option I see right now is to shave off 2 seconds from the actual track which I obviously would like to avoid. Any suggestions would be great.
