Hi guys,

Not sure if this has been asked, if it has I'm sorry and please provide me to the link for the answer.

If not, will the Roxio Game Capture HD work on the PS4, considering that the PS4 has a HDMI in and out connection now and no longer components?

Thanks

From what I read NO! At least not in the initial release models - LINK

Even when Incorporated, it appears it will be up to the Game Author if they want to defeat recordings...

The Plan B would then be to use an HDMI to Component Converter. This would allow you to hook up using Component.

Hey Jim,

Trust that you are well and thanks for the feedback. Ok, I see that this article was released on 23rd September this year and since then there has been a note from Sony regarding the day one patch, which will allow video recording and features show at the E3 press conference etc. So I'm hoping that this will allow us to use our Roxio Game Cap HD to do some recording.

Jim, will there be any software update from your guys side, as far as you know?

Thanks
AN

Jim is a user of the Roxio software, etc. just like you.  No one, who posts on these forums, are Roxio people, unless you see the Roxio logo by their name.

The only one who I have seen post, in the past many months, is Rox-Ralf.  I think that all of the others (Roxio), who used to help here, were let go some time ago. :(

NO there will not be an update to defeat copy protection

The issue is HDCP which Sony had all along but earlier models had the option of a Component Cable... Component cannot carry HDCP. But the new one only has HDMI which does carry the HDCP signal. (of interest is that the Roxio RGC OUTPUT also has HDCP with HDMI is output!)

As the article stated, the HDCP will be switchable within the PS4 by the game software... So you may not be able to record due to the Game Writers decision to turn on HDCP for his game

All this remains to be seen...

I think You should get a PS4 and become our guinea pig
