Question

Hello,

Whenever I try to burn my 23.98 Quicktime ProRes file to blu-ray using Toast 11, the resulting disc is 29.97.

Anybody know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,

Kirk

Does it happen regardless of using MPEG-4 or MPEG-2 as the encoding format? Do you have Compressor? If so, using it for the encoding is the way to go. I'll look to see if I can find anything that is 23.98 fps to test with Toast. Maybe you can point me to something to download.

From DVD experience, I noticed that whenever Toast had to convert video, it would covert to either 29.97 fps (NTSC) or 25 fps (PAL). But if the 23.976 fps source file was DVD compliant (MPEG-2, good frame size, etc.), then Toast would accept it as-is, and not need a framerate conversion.

Perhaps something similar happens for Blu-ray. Try encoding to BD compliant specs (H.264 or MPEG-2) before adding to Toast.
