.SWF to .MOV then import into VW7 VW7 will not load .mov for previewing

So since I have QuickTime Pro (V7 for WinXP) - I decided to try saving my (animation clip) .swf file to a .mov file and then use in VW7. (Rationale for doing this is the .swf file when converted via QT Pro to .mov is quite small - 230KB compared to 1.7MB for the same clip in .AVI format - not sure why the near 9x increase in size, but that's a bit of a tangent).
No problems with the convert from .swf to .mov using QuickTime Pro 7 and the size was still very reasonable (290KB) with no loss in image quality.
Note: In QT Pro I loaded the flash movie (.swf) file and then saved it as a self-contained movie with an estimated size of 290KB.
Now when I try to pull the newly saved .mov file into my VW7 production using the timeline view; I get a blank panel - that's it. No sound, no picture, no preview, nothing. VW7 doesn't complain or choke on the file when I drag it to the production timeline panel - but I am unable to view any aspect of the movie clip.
But - here's an intersting hint. I looked at the properties of the .mov file in VW7 (right click on the file name in the Media Selector window) here's what I get:
General Attributes:
|Name |Value
TYPE Video
Data Rate 33KB/Sec
Length 00:00:07:00
Video Stream [0 ]
|Name |Value
Frame Size 8301 x26950 pixels
Frame Rate 29.97 fps
Compression ROXIO QT Source
8301 x 26950?? seems VW7 is either misinterpreting the header on the file or has a bug. I checked the properties of the .mov clip in QuickTime Pro and it was just as I saved it - 500x375 (pixels).
After mucking with this for nearly 4 days, any suggestions, workarounds, comments, thoughts or prayers are quite welcomed!

.SWF files are not supported (as you have found out) by v 7.x
The reason the .MOV files are much smaller (or the .AVI is larger), is that the mov file is highly compressed, while the avi file has little to no compression. If you are trying to get the file(s) into VideoWave so you can eventually use them on a project to burn a standard video dvd, you would be much better off going from swf to avi than mov, since the video will have to be re-encoded again to make it dvd compliant (mpeg2). Re-encoding highly compressed video almost always ends up with very poor quality because it has to encode "up" in size, whereas no/low compression is going to be encoded "down", so it's quality is better.

I'm actually trying to stitch a series of short (.swf) clips into a .mov for Internet streaming. I love the transitions and other featues of VW7 so I'd prefer to use it for post-production, plus I don't have FC Pro or AAE (After Effects) ;-).
I really think the source of my problem is VW7's issue with Quicktime "Self-contained Movie" file. If anyone else has ever tried this - I'd love to hear about your results!

It imports them and allows you to output to MOV, what more would one want?

The "issue with VW7 and Quicktime" is the new h.264 codec... seems the highly optimized h.264 codec that QTPro 7 uses is NOT compatible with VW7 (h.263 and earlier is supported). Looks like it "may" be supported as an input file format in EMC9. I'm heading over to that forum now to confirm and will post what I find out here.
Btw -- for publishing to the Internet - the high quality that h.264 gives you is a no-brainer. So if anyone is looking to stitch a bunch of .mov or .avi files together and publish them to the net - I would strongly suggest using the h.264 codec for maximizing both quality while minimizing file size.

What you need is just a swf to video converter which can help you convert swf to avi or convert swf to mov, so that you can import them to VM7, easy?!
Well, i recommend you to try iWisoft swf to mov converter which i've used for a long time, it can help you. www.removed.
