Purchased EMC9: there are TWO download files and- as usual- support e-mail can't give a worthwile response: what's the diff between the two and WHICH of the two do I use ?!

I believe you'll need both.  One is the setup program and the other is the Content which is to be installed after MEC is installed.

the one with 600+Mb is for application installation...and the other smaller one is for content installation.

Two files: Program and Content -- you need to install both files.

Beerman speaks the truth. The first file is EMC Suite (all the software, ~600 MBytes), the second file is the Content disk (additional menus, transitions, etc, ~350 MBytes).

The first thing I always do is burn downloaded files like this to CD for safe keeping.

Run the big file first, when the install is finished make sure the software starts up and act properly. Then run the second file. Both files will extract and uncompress on their own.
