For a while now (even before upgrading to EMC 8) I get an error during booting that Windows has disabled the DirectCD driver because of some capability issue.  I still got the error after fully uninstalling EMC 6.  Thought installing EMC 8 would give me the latest drivers but it did not fix the problem.  Drag-to-disc does not recognize a CD-RW disc.  Any suggestions?

Sounds like there was an older version on that PC at some time, like v4 or 5 that used DirectCD and there are some leftover drivers. In version 6 it was called Drag To Disc.

Unistall ALL of your Roxio products. Then run roxizap (link for it can be found in this post pinned to the top of the v6 area). Then reboot. If the message still pops up, run roxizap a couple more times, then reboot and the DirectCD stuff should be gone. You caqn then re-install EMC 8 and you should be good to go.

And, you might want to list your system specs.  You need a lot of horsepower to run the newer versions.
