:)

I just purchased the popcorn 2 upgrade from a recent email ad. I currently have popcorn 1.03. When I open popcorn 2, the request for cd-key appears. My original popcorn 1 cd-key does not unlock popcorn 2. The ad for the upgrade indicated that the upgrade was possible with a popcorn 1.0 cd-key. Any ideas. Seems like this was a problem for someone else on this forum.

Your purchase should come with a new upgrade CD-Key. Popcorn 1 key will not work with Popcorn 2.
For the upgrade version, if you do not have Toast 7 or Popcorn 1 installed, it will prompt you for Popcorn 1 key.
If you have one of the two version installed, it will just prompt for the new upgrade CD Key.

Same problem here. The Order confirmation from Allume systems / digital river states:

Product Name Serial Number or Registration Code:
Popcorn 2 (Mac OS X 10.4 or higher) Not Available

The original add states:

YOU MUST OWN POPCORN 1 OR TOAST 7 TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS UPGRADE OFFER. This product will not install on your system if you do not currently own and/or operate Popcorn 1 or Toast 7.

and I have popcorn 1 installed and running now. Seems like an error is happening.

I am curious if any others having problems are outside the USA as I purchased my popcorn v1 in Australia and am wondering if it may be an international version serial number problem?

Yes, also from Allume on 8/9/06. I have logged an email with Roxio support (no answer yet) and attempted the same with Allume, however their support links are a bit circular and when you submit a problem an automated email comes back with a link to the same point.

Frustrating Yes?

Hi, I purchased Popcorn 2 Upgrade as a download from you. I was meant to
be able to be install using the version 1 cd key I have from the
original installation, which is currently running on my iMac. The update
will not continue past the 'enter serial number' part of updating
registration. I note there are posts about this on a new thread on
Roxio's support board. Please advise me if this is a known problem or new
issue, and what I should be doing. Could you check it's not some
international version problem as I purchased version 1 in Australia and
this might affect the range of 'approved serial numbers?

To install the upgrade, you must have a Popcorn 1 and Popcorn 2 CD-Key.  If you didn't receive a Popcorn 2 CD in the upgrade e-mail, there is a problem.

Send me a personal message with your old CD-Key and I will see what I can do about getting you a new one.
