I have tried searching the help files but have not found how to set the system so that the transitions, color panels and such all have the default time setting I desire. In VideoWave, I get a setting when the item is right clicked and "Edit Duration" is selected. That window has a box for Default for all in this project yet it does not do that - much less for later projects. The reason that I ask this, is because all the defaults have rolled back to about 0.1 second where-as they used to be 3 seconds or so. It is no big deal to "Edit Duration" but itis just an additional redundant step throughout the operation.

You can set the image duration in VW through Tools/options. The transition duration will of course depend on the duration of the images on either side. None of my defaults have ever rolled back to 0.1 sec.

I have noticed that "transistion duration timing", "color panel timing", and "still photo timing" interact to some degree. For example, the length of the  duration set for a still panel (photo or color panel) will affect the length of a transistion, regardless of the default setting. I've noticed this happens when a panel duration is short. This causes the preceeding transistion to be shorter than the default. I would suggest that you experiment in VideoWave by creating a test video using various duration timings so you know what the limitations are. Although you may have selected default settings, you will not know that the program may have changed the setting for a particular transistion unless you go back an click on the transisition and check it. Hope this helps.

Brad is correct and I'd forgotten about that property.   The program does automatically change the duration of the transition based on the time of the photos and color panels.

If you're getting a .1 transition time, then the duration of your photos must be very short.   I've never been able to get it below .3.

I'm not even certain that you can get the Edit Duration to 'stick' if you edit the transitions individually.   If my memory is correct, the time I tried that, they went back to the shorter time unless I lengthened the photos on one side of the transition.   Lengthening both photos usually gave me the effect that I wanted.

Thinking back I do recall having innocently changed the default while experimenting with a rapid succession effect for stills. You know those "firworks finale" type of things! But however I managed to change them did not seem (at the time) to be rocket science. It was as you suggested, merely changing the number in a window. Oh well, at least this situation is nothing more than an inconvenience.

Thanks to all for the suggestions and support.
