Hi,

I am a new user to Create 9 and the MyDVD program I tried burning a few single layer DVD's of video without any problem. I then tried burning some video to a +R Dual Layer and the process hung.

After a few more failed attempts, I decided to create an image file first. The MyDVD program recognized that the DVD was a +R Dual Layer and created an image file.

However, when I go to burn the iso image to DVD, it says that the disk type is incompatible with the image.

I can burn Dual Layer DVD's with other video editing programs.

Without trying to go through all the Left's, Right's, Up's & Down's, try this procedure:

Here
Dell 8300 3.0ghz 1.5gb RAM 300gb & 200gb HDs
XP Pro/SP2
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 w/AGP8X

I captured video from a device as MPEG-2 and converted it to an iso image. It's about 6GB.

Now I'm trying to write it to DVD+R DL, and it's giving me the same message
this guy is getting. WHen I put the disk in, it says I have 2.1GB free, but when I
try to burn it, it says "This disc is incompatible with the source."

I read the other article, but it seems more to pertain to creating an iso image from
a DVD+R DL than burning an iso image TO the DVD+R DL.

Please don't tell me I have to recreate the iso file, because it took over 2 hours
the first time!

This worked in EMC8!

Thanks in advance for any help,

If all you want is to burn the ISO to disc. Try this small 1.10mb Free ISO burn tool ImgBurn. From the main screen please select a file, first folder. Browse for your file, select the ISO click open. Back on the main screen choose test mode and lower the burn speed to 2.4x ( I don't know your media brand, burner maker, or you firmware) Then click the write arrow it will simulate the burn and tell you if there is a problem, wait for the program popup that it is finished. If this completes OK, uncheck the test and click the write arrow again. Now it's burning the ISO image to disc.
ImgBurn recommends using + R DL media.

It wouldn't let me do a test for a DL disk, so I just had it write it. It worked fine! Thanks very much for the help. Shouldn't this work in EMC9, though?

Thanks again,

Yes it should! There seems to be a problem for you and some others. Imgburn is a simple do one thing program that does it well.

I put in a tech support request to Roxio. They responded, and told me to burn the image using Creator Classic, and that worked.

Maybe they aren't using object-oriented programming, and calling the same program to do the same action from different places in their code :)
