Did they ever correct the problem that I've had encoding video when burning to DVD ?  Error code 80040227.  It would be nice to have a product that worked.  They released version 9 recently and I was wondering if the new version has this same problem.  I've been burnt last time with version 8 that I'll never purchase any of their products again.  You can't get any customer support.  I'll be glad to return their crappy program back to them if they'll refund my $80.00 I spent on their useless product.  Thanks for nothing Roxio.

Without any details, how could anyone possibly answer that?

If you want to resolve your problem you are going to have to supply details and work through it.

If you only came here to vent, you have…
Dell 8300 3.0ghz 1.5gb RAM 300gb & 200gb HDs
XP Pro/SP2
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 w/AGP8X

What information do you need to help me solve my problem ? I've gone through the Ask Roxann route and got no help through that route.  I did a search on this message board for anyone who's had the same problem and there have been except no answer to a solution.  My original post was part vent and part desparation that it might get a response from Roxio to find a solution.  As far as I can tell there is no phone customer support that I could find on this website.  The jest of the problem is I get the following error message when I try to create a dvd - "80040227 Error while Encoding movie 1".  I've even tried to install the update on the website and I get a message saying "Cannot locate RCT3  USA, RETAIL, on your computer." even after uninstalling and reinstalling the software on my computer.  Some of the Specs are as follows

HP DVD Writer 300n
ADM Athlon XP 3200+

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do a google search on that error (80040227) and there are lots of hits and most somehow seem to be Windows Media Player related. You still have not given any details about what you are doing, etc.

? RTC3?  Roller Coaster Tycoon.  Do you have/had that on your computer even as a trial?  I did a Google search and the only thing I could find that might be applicable is that nVidia card sometimes have a problem with that.  Do you have nVidia chips/card?  Update or reinstall the drivers for that card.  Having that message pop up really points to a bigger problem on your computer.

What format is that movie 1?  There maybe something in it that EMC doesn't like.  Open VideoWave and add that movie (only).  Now use the icon that looks like a film reel to output that movie to mpg2 best for DVD.  Click to create the file. Note the time that the encoding stops.  Somewhere in that time frame is what could be the problem.  If the movie encodes properly, simply add that mpg2 file to MyDVD instead of the original.

Disregard the update error meesage.  The update error message is from something unrelated.  If the error is windows media player related what is the solution ?  Basically I was simply trying to create a DVD from a Tivo file. How do i determine if I have a nVidia chip/card ?  I think that may be part of the problem.  Thanks for any help that gets me closer to solving this mystery problem.

Has anybody found a solution to this problem.  I have purchased myDVD8 for the sole purpose of creating DVDs of my TiVo shows and receive this same error.  I have the current directX, etc.   I have done all the things Roxio automated support has asked me to do but still receive the same error.  I have a ACER aspire 5004wlmi laptop with 1 gig of memory.  The DVD drive burns cd's and data fine.  I don't think I'm even getting to the point of accessing the drive.  It is just trying to encode the tivo file.

Thanks,

Bob

The OP has not been here for 2 1/2 months and we never did get a clear indication of what the problem was or enough info to help…

First thing you should try is typing in Tivo in the search window and looking through all the problem posts.

If you haven't found a solution then start a New Topic with the specifics of your problem and your PC specs.
