Do a google search on that error (80040227) and there are lots of hits and most somehow seem to be Windows Media Player related. You still have not given any details about what you are doing, etc.

? RTC3? Roller Coaster Tycoon. Do you have/had that on your computer even as a trial? I did a Google search and the only thing I could find that might be applicable is that nVidia card sometimes have a problem with that. Do you have nVidia chips/card? Update or reinstall the drivers for that card. Having that message pop up really points to a bigger problem on your computer.
What format is that movie 1? There maybe something in it that EMC doesn't like. Open VideoWave and add that movie (only). Now use the icon that looks like a film reel to output that movie to mpg2 best for DVD. Click to create the file. Note the time that the encoding stops. Somewhere in that time frame is what could be the problem. If the movie encodes properly, simply add that mpg2 file to MyDVD instead of the original.

First thing you should try is typing in Tivo in the search window and looking through all the problem posts.
