Howdy, I'm thinking of buying VideoWave 7 or 8 and wanted to know if it's possible to capture video from a VCR? I have read through the information on it, but can't really find the answer to this. Does anyone know?

Thanks.

V8 does have a capture function. If it sees your particular capture device is another question.Often people use the software provided with their device to actually do the capturing and then use the resultant file in VW.

Yes. However, you need a capture device that will convert the analog signal to a digital signal. Either a capture card or standalone device will usually do the job.  I capture in DV AVI which on my computer I find gives me the best quality video when burned to a DVD.

However, as previous mentioned, you might have to use the software that came with the capture device to actually capture the video.

Once you've capture the video, you should be able to edit it in EMC7 VideoWave.
