I'm having major problems with EMC8. Windows recognizes my drives but Roxio doesn't. I've tried all the fixes posted in here except the registry one. Not sure how that one works. Anybody know how to fix this problem?

Also, do you have any other similar software installed? If so, EMC's Drag to Disc can conflict with Sonic DLA and Nero InCD. Only one can be installed on a system.

I have neither one of those installed. That was one I tried the other fix was drivefix.exe. Nothing has worked. Once I go to burn it ask me to put the disc in...once in it still says no cd. I hope I can get this resolved. Help someone!!!!!

1. Click on Start --> Run --> and type in 'regedit' followed by the enter key
2. Expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" key (looks like a folder) by double clicking it (or
3. clicking the "+" next to it.)
4. Expand the "SYSTEM" Key
5. Expand the "CurrentControlSet" Key
6. Expand the "Control" Key
7. Expand the "Class" Key
8. Please look for a key containing the following string of letter and numbers:
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
9. High light this key by left clicking once on it
10. On the right hand side you are looking for "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" under the "Name" column, once you find these please delete them by right clicking on them and choosing "delete"
11. Please exit the registry by clicking on the "X" in the top right hand corner of the screen
Reboot your computer

Hi,
I'm at work now, just not to comfortable dealing with the registry, but I might try. Does ECD9 have these problems too?
Thanks, Jerry

This can be caused by other programs that want to take control of the drives such as Alcohol 120% and others.

The registry problem is a Microsoft problem, not a Roxio problem. It happens to some with numerous other video type software programs.
