System

p4 3.2ghz prescott
intel 875p chipset
2gb pc3200 ddr
sony dru820a - using latest firmware, drivers, and xp updates and roxio updates.

Get into the program, load the saved slideshow file, click burn - it says "you must save before burning" or something, say ok.

The program seems to work fine, it cycles thru everything right up to writing disc, where it stops..and sits there.  the hard disc light comes on every couple seconds for a split second or 2 then stops, and the dvd drive does nothing. no spinning, no lights, no noise.  try to eject the dvd with the control button on the front and nothing happens.

try to eject it in windows xp, nothing happens.  ctrl+alt+del shows the mydvd program and 3 subprograms running, but using 0% processor rescources.  if i kill them, I still can't access the dvd until i restart the system.

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!?

You need to go to the Sonic forums.  That version of MyDVD is nothing like what is in the Roxio software, which is what is discussed in these forums.

Then why did it come packaged with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5? Hate to break it to you, but it's what I got when I upgraded from 7 to 7.5 last year.  I haven't used it until now, but it IS what came with my Roxio stuff, the roxio creator home even accesses it for me.

So lets try this again.

Can anyone say wth is wrong here without talking down to me like i'm a moron?

With that attitude it may be hard…

But, MyDVD 6.1.2 is not a Roxio product!

Yes it was bundled in the box, but so was ClinePlayer and BUMP which are not Roxio programs.

Sonic does not have a user forum like this but they do respond to inquiries. Actually you should be able to open a support ticket from here. Try both and see which one gets back to you first.

I wasn't trying to make you look like a moron, at all.  The facts are, rarely will you see discussions on any MyDVD prior to version 8.

I have EMC 7.5, and still like it, but I never use the MyDVD portion of it.  DVD Builder suites me just fine.
