I am a wedding photographer and just upgraded from Creator 6 to 8. I open MyDVD, change the default Menu to Wedding, go to Add New Movie and drag my photos there, add transitions, etc. No problem so far. After I complete a movie on the Groom, I start a new movie for the Bride, and so on until I have the wedding day covered. In Creator 6, all of those movies would play one after the other, but I am unable to do that in 8, as the "settings" option to link them in View is greyed out and not available. The movies all play ok, but when one is finished, I have to return to the menu and play the next one manually. I am also unable to add a thumbnail image to that movie (greyed out in DVD Menu). I have tried everything I can think of to fix these issues, but no luck. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Bob: I will be very interested in the answers that you recieve. In EMC 7 & 7.5 I was always able to make a full slideshow within a video. In EMC 8 you must do this within MyDVD and then import it back into the video.Sucks to me, as the slideshow does not have the same features, you should be able to do this all in the same program. Improvements in a program should be just that and not to remove what is already a good thing.

Use videowave to build your movie then export it to my dvd change the menu to wedding then copy and paste the menu button, you have to move the pasted button as it's right on top of the original name the first button play all and the second chapters. You can then go to edit chapters and put you chapters where you want them. Select the chapter button and you should find that the thumdnail control is no longer greyed out.

Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try. Still, it seems like a lot of extra steps to be able to do something that has been in the program for some time!

Bob: You are absolutley correct. We could do it all from the same program in V7. Sonic's MyDVD has always been second rate product to EMC.

Sorry to take so long in coming back, but it seems as if EMC8 caused my computer to crash due to a software/corrupt file(s) problem. So, I did the next logical thing, I returned EMC8 and got my money back and went back to using EMC6. I will NOT upgrade to another Roxio product until the Sonic portion is removed. After spending many, many hours reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling all of my software, I simply cannot take that chance. Thanks to all for your help!
