Can't get the select default burner option in Roxio Creator 6/Creator Classic to work on my computer . Running Windows XP home edition. Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Problem still not solved. Any suggestions?

Since you have given no clues regarding what the burner id string is, my suspicion is that you don't have a DVD burner. Buying DVD burning software doesn't make a DVD-ROM into a DVD burner.

Please read this and come back with enough information for us to be able to help you.

Thanks, I do have a DVD burner, but Im not trying to burn a DVD. I trying to burn music onto a CD-R. All the other programs such as Power2Go, RealPlayer and Windows Media Player will burn to a CD-R, but in Roxio Creator Classic the button for selecting a default burner will not work nor does it recognize my placing a blank CD-R in the drive (E: on my computer).

But without the info that Lynn requested, the answer would be a wild guess…
